If you saw someone walking down the street with a helly hansen on would you call them a chav, or i someone had skiny jeans on would you call them an emo? (Not saying you would) Do you thik is is right/fair to lable them like that?

It's unfair, and dismissive. Boxes get labeled because they carry what the label says. Humans aren't boxes, a person who constantly labels people will always be surprised when people act out of that imaginary character. You can't describe a person in one word, with the exception of he/she is a "human" and that word carries much weight.

Color bleed on water proof jacket?

Hi, I have a white, water proof, helly hansen jacket. It has gray marks all over it due to the fact that a few months a go while i was washing it my sister stuck her black jeans in the washer on accident. I've washed it three times after that and the color seems to fade, but is still very noticeable. The jacket is very expensive and I haven't been able to wear but I would like to since winter is rolling around. Is there any way you can help me on getting the grayish color out? You can try using RIT color remover since it is washable. If the dye is removable at home, that'll do it. You can also try asking a dry cleaner if they think they can help you. If all else fails, maybe you can just dye the jacket a different color!

Ok so I know i asked this question before but i have more of an idea of what i want now, so all my friends have shoulder bags from like Accesorize or Primark etc but i would like a backpack but it has to be colourful and have a nice design on it , when i have looked on the net on Surfdome they have nice bags but they are too small! I think it looks really nice on me (I tried it on in store), and I love it to bits. But I'm not sure whether people would say they're fashionable. I'm pretty sure that if I wore this coat to school people wouldn't like it and might even say something about it.

What is wrong with me.... please me sensitive?

I am a 17 year old female, currently studying for A levels.

Between the ages of 13-16 I went through a bit of a phase... I've always wanted to please others and look good to others (maybe it's an insecure thing?!) so at that age I was very easily lead. I have a sister 3 years older and at the time she had gotten in with the wrong crowd and was quite naughty and into hardcore and rather chavvy things (but no drugs). My sister was obviously my only influence along with a friend I had at the time who I think back now is pretty messed up (however harsh that may sound). And I did things that I thought would make me look “cool” or to impress others. When I was not necessarily comfortable doing them. These included staying out on the streets all night twice and wearing a Helly Hansen coat and claiming to be into hardcore.

However, throughout the whole time, I’ve never touched drugs and have always studied hard. Achieving 13 GCSE’s including 8 A’s.

Do you think I was just going through an experimental phase because of my insecurities or what? Because now whenever people bring up my past or say “do you remember when you did this...” etc it completely shatters me inside, It’s as if it was a different person and I have no excuses for it?! I hate my past so much that it is honestly preventing me from living now because I am so worried what people think of me? Was my past really that bad or did I just live the ‘teenage life’ a little early?What is wrong with me.... please me sensitive?
I used to perform acts of a sexual nature for many of teenage boys when I was that age, things haven't changed much except I'm a little older and have gotten to know the women at the std clinic a bit better.What is wrong with me.... please me sensitive?
I know it's going to sound like a bad soap opera plot, but I had amnesia when I was younger. Total blank; no name, no memories before the moment I woke up. I had to get to know everyone I used to again. Anyhow, long story short, eventually some things did start to come back to me a couple years after, but by that time I had already developed a good sense of who I was and I was happy. The memories that came back to me were in conflict with that sense of self in a big way. I came to question who I was, who I REALLY was. Was I defined by the shattered fragments of the person I had come to know myself to be, or was the real me the person I saw in those memories? I wasn't sure if I could trust the pieced together person I was at present. Then one day I realized that I am who I am, and whoever I may have been, whatever I may have done, that doesn't affect who I really am. Because who you are comes from inside, your thoughts, your skills, your emotions, the things that really define you. I don't look for my memories anymore, I don't care about the past, because it can only affect you if you allow it to.



Get to know who you really are, and try your best to act in tune with that person. If you do something you don't like, or there's something about yourself that you feel isn't true to who you are, change it! And absolve to never act like anyone other then yourself from then on.



It's true you can't change the past, but the present becomes the past so quickly that if you dwell on your failings you only make more regret for yourself. Each day carries it's own potential; a new beginning. What you do with that potential is up to you.

How to stay cool working in the summer sun?

So I'm a beekeeper in Alberta and it can get ridiculously hot around here in the middle of summer. If were busy enough 35 Celsius wont stop us from working. So I'm just looking for tips to stay out of the hospital as I feel as If the heat affects me more than the others at work. Of course being a beekeeper I have to wear the full white jump-suit and veil to work every single day and even though I only wear my underwear underneath I still sweat so much I look like I fell into a river, literally.



So what else can I do to keep cool? I keep my hair up and off my face/neck, drink plenty of cold liquids (juice and gatorade, not colas) and even go stand in the river during lunch if we happen to be there. Is there maybe clothing that would benefit me? I'm sceptical of how much things like Helly Hansen cooling clothes actually help. Also I've seen these rags that feel somewhat like a chamois that apparently you moisten in the morning and theyll stay cold for hours, anyone have any information on these or know where to get them?How to stay cool working in the summer sun?
definitely look into the chamois. if you feel dizzy and feel like you are about to pass out, take a break and visit your doctor. if you can manage, you may be able to build up a resistance and the chamois, liquids, all the things you listed will help.

What to buy boyfriend of two years for birthday?

I am currently 16 years of age and I am female. I have recently finished high school and have now started college. Between the age of about 12 - 14 I was quite gobby, I wore a Helly Hansen and Fred Perry coat a few times (not often), I stayed out of the streets all night a couple of times (under the influence of a friend) and I use to say 'htid' and 'oi oi' often because my sister had chavvy friends so she was my only influence. However, I have now gotten to an age where I am more mature and can decide for myself what kind of person I want to be. I have had a respectful upbringing and have always had good morals. I have never used violence or broken the law in any severe way. Does this mean I use to be a chav? And do people think I am a bad person. Now I am 16 and I am completely different to how I use to be. All along I have been academically achieving well. I believe that I was just going through a phase and that age is a very experimental age right?

There is no way to get rid of your past. Your past makes you who you are, whether you've learned from it and changed or not. The way to make it "go away" is just through self acceptance. You know what you did, you know who you are now. They are, apparently, different people. Once you accept that, and stop worrying about what others may think, then you will be at peace with yourself and it will "go away" because it's just not an issue any more.



Sure people may ask you about that time in your life, but if you've accepted yourself for who you were, and who you are, then you can calmly explain that it was just some period in your life and you're making better choices now. They'll see the maturity and sureness in that statement, and they shouldn't judge you on it. If they do they aren't worth it.



You may regret what you've been like, but as long as you learn from it and become what you want to be, then it shouldn't matter. It's just a learning experience. Embrace yourself.

Silk as a Base Layer for Snowboarding?

I have several different types of base layers along with Silk thermals. Should I wear the silk layer first or over other base layers. I just want to make sure I'll be warm.

The other layers I have are

Top: Helly Hansen 100% Polyprpylene

Ebtek 100% Polyester



Bottoms: Chili Peper thermal pants 100% polyester..



What is better the Silk under or over.

I know cotton is not good to wear...but does silk fall in the same category..Silk as a Base Layer for Snowboarding?
Silk is the best base layer. You should definitely start with the silk, move on to a long sleeve crew, (or turtleneck...yuck), and then a good fleece or sweater. You can probably skip the fleece for the lower body, if you have a good insulated pant. Your legs will be less likely to be cold since you're using them the most. I wouldn't suggest silk thermals and polyester thermals together. It's unnecessary, and will just be uncomfortable after a while. Silk is the best, always stick to natural fibers whenever possible.

I haven't heard anything that would suggest silk is a bad idea on the slopes.



If they're comfortable and you like them go for it. They're light weight and can be pretty warm. If you're at a resort you could always stash regular polypro (which is what I wear) in your locker and swap out if the silk isn't feeling so good.



Depending on how cold it is where you're going I'd wear silk thermals then fleece then wind/waterproof outerwear. You don't need to double up on long johns!

I think I just got myself in BIG trouble! Please help?

Okay, so the most popular girl in school, Kayla, got this jacket from Helly Hansen, and its the same as this North Face just $10 more, and I wanted the North Face but my mom said no. So she just said to get the Helly Hansen. Kayla got hers in white for her birthday, and white looks really cute, so I got white.

The next day I try to avoid her so she won't see, but I have 3 periods with her, so kinda impossible to not avoid her!

I started to move away into another group of friends as my old friends started to reject me. They didn't like the person that I was,even though I was much happier and they actually got quite spiteful. So I carried on doing what I was doing because it made me happy and so did my new friends,so I left them to whatever they wanted to do and I did my thing. Yeah, they're both pretty good, but bear in mind they haven't got hoods so the water's going to come in through the top anyway. Obviously the HH one is far better quality, and a bit warmer too, but in terms of waterproofness both are good. However, remember that nothing is truly waterproof, and if it rains enough, you will get wet eventually.

Hole in hip waders?

Does anyone know what type of patch kit is required to fix a hole in Helly Hansen hip waders? I have tried several different kinds of patch kits and cannot get one that will stick to this type of rubber. The manufacturer was contacted and cannot offer any solution and furthermore they do not manufacture a wader anymore. H E L P !!!Hole in hip waders?

a product called "Gorilla Glue". i have used it on neoprene as well as the breathable type of waders and no leaks. i have also used it to re-attach rear view mirrors in vehicles. if it will stick to glass it should stick to anything.

No it's illegal in most states. Just joking. A 9 in womens, is about a 7 1/2 in mens, which is probably the smallest size you will find at a retailer, most carry to an 8, some might have a 7 or 7 1/2.

Guy's shoes tend to be wider and have more room at the heel. You may find that men's shoes CAN'T fit you just for that reason alone.



If you want a certain pair of shoes, I see no problem with trying them on. If they fit, they fit. If they don't fit well, you could "lose" the shoe while walking or get blisters from your foot rubbing against the shoes.

Not sure about puffa jackets but a few years ago i ripped my leather jacket right down the middle and i thought that was it, but took it to a repair shop and they unstiched the lining and repaired it. It was a little bit noticeable but not much to be honest and it only cost like 12 quid to repair. You could try a leather shop like i did or speak to a seamtress, its always worth checking out, and 1.5cm aint that big a tear. Good luck.

I suggest a waterproof jacket, like with a Goretex membrane (or similar waterproofing). I also suggest a jacket with a hood, even if it's zipped into the collar. If you are going to ski, staying warm is crucial, and there's nothing worse than getting pelted with snow or ice crystals riding up a lift, and not being able to hide under a hood. Also, having a wet butt is no fun (I speak from experience!), so waterproof ski pants are really useful. Marmot, North Face %26amp; Columbia are all good, but Bogner, Spyder and other brands are good, too. If you check out eBay beware of Chinese fakes at cheap prices. I'm a fan of Columbia and Northface. Columbia might be more reasonable price wise. I am sure there are some decent deals now at stores on coats. Particularly sporting goods stores.

But before the summer, the last coat to be in fashion was Superdry. Its similar to Helly Hansen ... it was the Superdry 'windcheater' jacket, with 3 zips, and a superdry logo on the back. there's lot in the market maybe you could ask some laundry shop for help...
You can wash such coats but you really need to tumble dry them. Do so on a warm setting and check often, giving it a good shake each time and dry inside out. Add some tumble dryer sheets with a nice fragrance to add a nice pong. Feathers do pong when wet. All duvet manufacturers tumble dry to get the best, fluffy results, your coat will be warmer too if you do this. Dry on it's own and maybe inside an old duvet cover to prevent damage.How do i wash a down feathered coat???
Never wash Down. The feathers themselves can smell, always dry clean no matter what it says.

Wash the coat again using a mild detergent. When you place the coat in the dryer, you'll need to also put something like a tennis shoe in the dryer as well. As the tennis shoe hits the coat, it will help break apart wet down feather clusters. If these clusters are not broken apart, they will mold and be smelly. It will take quite a while to dry. Just feeling the outside of the coat isn't enough. You'll need to check for any lumps of feathers. Your coat isn't dry until all the lumps of feathers disappear.

Don't - take it to the cleaners.
Try using a decent smelling detergent and hand wash it in your bathtub. Then let it air dry outside.
gain, or Tide w/febreeze smells really good
Rewash it and add Downy fabric softener, or any other brand to the rinse cycle, also wash three tennis balls with it, and place them all in the dryer together, the tennis balls re-fluff the feathers.

You can add fabric softeners sheets also if you like.

What's a good brand of waterproof and windproof jackets for ladies?

It shouldn't be too lightweight - something like a ski jacket maybe, or thinner. Something that's of a good quality. There are brands like Northface, Helly Hansen, Regatta but I'm not sure which one's the best or if there are better ones?|||The North Face, they're made right here in the NW.


Pantagonia is also good.

How do you re-proof helly hansens?

my daughter bought a helly tech helly hansen coat bacl last year, it was waterproof and windproof, when we washed it as said at 40 and not to tumble dry it became less waterproof and now she cant wear it in the rain as it is no longer waterproof, she has been into shops e.g (go outdoors,millets) and asked how to re-proof it and they all said the re-proofing wash in and spray but it says it is heat activated and the label on the coat does not allow heat... how can i re-proof it??? without waisting the coat and buying a new one?|||you can get a spray to waterproof it with, just dont use real high heat
