If you saw someone walking down the street with a helly hansen on would you call them a chav, or i someone had skiny jeans on would you call them an emo? (Not saying you would) Do you thik is is right/fair to lable them like that?

It's unfair, and dismissive. Boxes get labeled because they carry what the label says. Humans aren't boxes, a person who constantly labels people will always be surprised when people act out of that imaginary character. You can't describe a person in one word, with the exception of he/she is a "human" and that word carries much weight.

Color bleed on water proof jacket?

Hi, I have a white, water proof, helly hansen jacket. It has gray marks all over it due to the fact that a few months a go while i was washing it my sister stuck her black jeans in the washer on accident. I've washed it three times after that and the color seems to fade, but is still very noticeable. The jacket is very expensive and I haven't been able to wear but I would like to since winter is rolling around. Is there any way you can help me on getting the grayish color out? You can try using RIT color remover since it is washable. If the dye is removable at home, that'll do it. You can also try asking a dry cleaner if they think they can help you. If all else fails, maybe you can just dye the jacket a different color!

Ok so I know i asked this question before but i have more of an idea of what i want now, so all my friends have shoulder bags from like Accesorize or Primark etc but i would like a backpack but it has to be colourful and have a nice design on it , when i have looked on the net on Surfdome they have nice bags but they are too small! What is wrong with me.... please me sensitive?

I am a 17 year old female, currently studying for A levels.

Between the ages of 13-16 I went through a bit of a phase... I've always wanted to please others and look good to others (maybe it's an insecure thing?!) so at that age I was very easily lead. I have a sister 3 years older and at the time she had gotten in with the wrong crowd and was quite naughty and into hardcore and rather chavvy things (but no drugs). My sister was obviously my only influence along with a friend I had at the time who I think back now is pretty messed up (however harsh that may sound). And I did things that I thought would make me look “cool” or to impress others. When I was not necessarily comfortable doing them. These included staying out on the streets all night twice and wearing a Helly Hansen coat and claiming to be into hardcore.

However, throughout the whole time, I’ve never touched drugs and have always studied hard. Achieving 13 GCSE’s including 8 A’s.

Do you think I was just going through an experimental phase because of my insecurities or what? Because now whenever people bring up my past or say “do you remember when you did this...” etc it completely shatters me inside, It’s as if it was a different person and I have no excuses for it?! I hate my past so much that it is honestly preventing me from living now because I am so worried what people think of me? Was my past really that bad or did I just live the ‘teenage life’ a little early?What is wrong with me.... please me sensitive?

I know it's going to sound like a bad soap opera plot, but I had amnesia when I was younger. Total blank; no name, no memories before the moment I woke up. I had to get to know everyone I used to again. Anyhow, long story short, eventually some things did start to come back to me a couple years after, but by that time I had already developed a good sense of who I was and I was happy. The memories that came back to me were in conflict with that sense of self in a big way. I came to question who I was, who I REALLY was. Was I defined by the shattered fragments of the person I had come to know myself to be, or was the real me the person I saw in those memories? I wasn't sure if I could trust the pieced together person I was at present. Then one day I realized that I am who I am, and whoever I may have been, whatever I may have done, that doesn't affect who I really am. Because who you are comes from inside, your thoughts, your skills, your emotions, the things that really define you. I don't look for my memories anymore, I don't care about the past, because it can only affect you if you allow it to.



Get to know who you really are, and try your best to act in tune with that person. If you do something you don't like, or there's something about yourself that you feel isn't true to who you are, change it! And absolve to never act like anyone other then yourself from then on.



It's true you can't change the past, but the present becomes the past so quickly that if you dwell on your failings you only make more regret for yourself. Each day carries it's own potential; a new beginning. What you do with that potential is up to you.

How to stay cool working in the summer sun?

So I'm a beekeeper in Alberta and it can get ridiculously hot around here in the middle of summer. If were busy enough 35 Celsius wont stop us from working. So I'm just looking for tips to stay out of the hospital as I feel as If the heat affects me more than the others at work. Of course being a beekeeper I have to wear the full white jump-suit and veil to work every single day and even though I only wear my underwear underneath I still sweat so much I look like I fell into a river, literally.



So what else can I do to keep cool? I keep my hair up and off my face/neck, drink plenty of cold liquids (juice and gatorade, not colas) and even go stand in the river during lunch if we happen to be there. Is there maybe clothing that would benefit me? I'm sceptical of how much things like Helly Hansen cooling clothes actually help. Also I've seen these rags that feel somewhat like a chamois that apparently you moisten in the morning and theyll stay cold for hours, anyone have any information on these or know where to get them?How to stay cool working in the summer sun?
definitely look into the chamois. if you feel dizzy and feel like you are about to pass out, take a break and visit your doctor. if you can manage, you may be able to build up a resistance and the chamois, liquids, all the things you listed will help.

What to buy boyfriend of two years for birthday?

I am currently 16 years of age and I am female. I have recently finished high school and have now started college. Between the age of about 12 - 14 I was quite gobby, I wore a Helly Hansen and Fred Perry coat a few times (not often), I stayed out of the streets all night a couple of times (under the influence of a friend) and I use to say 'htid' and 'oi oi' often because my sister had chavvy friends so she was my only influence. However, I have now gotten to an age where I am more mature and can decide for myself what kind of person I want to be. I have had a respectful upbringing and have always had good morals. I have never used violence or broken the law in any severe way. Does this mean I use to be a chav? And do people think I am a bad person. Now I am 16 and I am completely different to how I use to be. All along I have been academically achieving well. I believe that I was just going through a phase and that age is a very experimental age right?



Please no nasty comments, this is mentally affecting me almost to the extent where I am suicidal.

I dont know how people respond to you many people get stuck in past judgements but then it is them that isn't able to move on, %26amp; not you - Just live your present and if anyone makes reference to your past you can laugh and say yes I was wild thats my past - I changed.

Well your past is your past and thank goodness right? You said that you have matured. You are acting as a responsible young lady now. You can never change how people see you or think of you. There is no way to get rid of your past. Your past makes you who you are, whether you've learned from it and changed or not. The way to make it "go away" is just through self acceptance. You know what you did, you know who you are now. They are, apparently, different people. Once you accept that, and stop worrying about what others may think, then you will be at peace with yourself and it will "go away" because it's just not an issue any more.



Sure people may ask you about that time in your life, but if you've accepted yourself for who you were, and who you are, then you can calmly explain that it was just some period in your life and you're making better choices now. They'll see the maturity and sureness in that statement, and they shouldn't judge you on it. If they do they aren't worth it.



You may regret what you've been like, but as long as you learn from it and become what you want to be, then it shouldn't matter. It's just a learning experience. Embrace yourself.

Silk as a Base Layer for Snowboarding?

I have several different types of base layers along with Silk thermals. Should I wear the silk layer first or over other base layers. I just want to make sure I'll be warm.

The other layers I have are

Top: Helly Hansen 100% Polyprpylene

Ebtek 100% Polyester



Bottoms: Chili Peper thermal pants 100% polyester..



What is better the Silk under or over.

I know cotton is not good to wear...but does silk fall in the same category..Silk as a Base Layer for Snowboarding?
Silk is the best base layer. You should definitely start with the silk, move on to a long sleeve crew, (or turtleneck...yuck), and then a good fleece or sweater. You can probably skip the fleece for the lower body, if you have a good insulated pant. Your legs will be less likely to be cold since you're using them the most. I wouldn't suggest silk thermals and polyester thermals together. It's unnecessary, and will just be uncomfortable after a while. Silk is the best, always stick to natural fibers whenever possible.

I haven't heard anything that would suggest silk is a bad idea on the slopes.



If they're comfortable and you like them go for it. They're light weight and can be pretty warm. If you're at a resort you could always stash regular polypro (which is what I wear) in your locker and swap out if the silk isn't feeling so good.



Depending on how cold it is where you're going I'd wear silk thermals then fleece then wind/waterproof outerwear. You don't need to double up on long johns!

I think I just got myself in BIG trouble! Please help?

Okay, so the most popular girl in school, Kayla, got this jacket from Helly Hansen, and its the same as this North Face just $10 more, and I wanted the North Face but my mom said no. So she just said to get the Helly Hansen. Kayla got hers in white for her birthday, and white looks really cute, so I got white.

The next day I try to avoid her so she won't see, but I have 3 periods with her, so kinda impossible to not avoid her!
